Past Employment

Self-employed Freelancer, 2004-Present

As a freelancer I have worked with musicians, consulting agencies, published novelists, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and publicly traded companies. Working as a graphic designer, print designer, and web designer all in one, I tailor my approach to my client’s needs, keeping a strong line of communication with the client at all times, often being able to provide an all-in-one design package or solution.

Arizona Geological Survey, 2010-Present

The AZGS (Arizona Geological Survey) is the primary source of information relating to geology, mineral resources, and land development in Arizona. As a part-time graphic and web designer under the umbrella of the AZGS, I have worked on projects ranging from local earthquake awareness funded by FEMA to national geothermal energy initiatives funded by the Department of Energy. Often working on multiple projects in multiple mediums at once, I have been able to provide the AZGS with a consistent, professional, and pleasing design experience for both the public and internal staff.

Cosanti Foundation, 2009

The Cosanti Foundation, created by Italian architect Paolo Soleri, is a non-profit organization dedicated to research in sustainable architecture, ecology, agriculture, and the continual study of Paolo Soleri’s architectural theories. Its main project is Arcosanti, an “Urban Laboratory” in the Arizona desert dedicated to creating and experimenting with Soleri’s theory of “arcology.” In 2009 I was brought on as a graphic designer and web designer to produce all event promotional material, multimedia, and web related work for Arcosanti and its overseeing Foundation. This included producing a new website, redesigning the Arcosanti logo, and producing video, print, and t-shirt designs for the 90th Paolo Soleri Birthday Celebration.

O'Keefe Communications, 2008

O’Keefe is an event and media productions company based in Washington DC. Their client list includes Clark Construction, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Smithsonian Institute, and the United States Postal Service. In 2008 I worked on a number of projects for them as a graphic designer and Keynote presentation designer, creating visual ID’s for speakers, designing event presentations, and preparing digital media resources for post-production. In particular, I directed the visual aesthetic and presentation design of the 2008 Smithsonian Philatelic Achievement Awards Gala.

Laureate Education, 2007

Laureate produces online education material for 24 accredited institutions around the world, including Walden University. I was employed there as a contractor to fill a number of roles including logo design, marketing and branding design, template creation and implementation for online course presentations, and audio editing for course lectures. I worked under multiple managers in various departments in a deadline-driven atmosphere. I still work with them as a freelance presentation and animation designer.
